Patna, November 2, 2017: With winter setting in, more and more Patnaites have started using the skating rink at Eco Park. Other activities like rock climbing, zip lining and tandem cycling are also popular among the kids.

By the end of October, more kids are expected to join the half-an-hour training session. "We charge only Rs 30 from each person for using the skating rink that was constructed last year. During the winter season, the number of trainees goes up by 40%," Eco Park official Parmanand said, adding kids were being joined by their older siblings and parents as well.

Buddh Marg resident Yashi Singh, who learned skating last year, believes that it is similar to flying. "I am not into sports, but love skating, especially during winter time. I am still a novice and will need a little guidance from the trainers," the 15-year-old said.

Eight-year-old Rohan Kedia was both nervous and excited while learning his first skating lesson on Wednesday. He said, "I thought skating would be easy, but it is difficult and needs a lot of patience, confidence and proper balance. My trainer thinks it will take me almost three weeks to learn the art of skating."

Another girl, Medha Shree, told this reporter, "Skating is a challenge, but I am enjoying it with my family. I also come here for other fun activities for which I pay a minimal amount (Rs 50 to Rs 300)."
