Pakyong (Sikkim), February 17, 2018: Residents of Yakten village near Pakyong town are making good income by running homestays in the locality with the State government’s support since the past four years.

Gyan Bahadur Subba, who runs a homestay, informed that guest are staying in the homestays around the year. The village currently has eight homestays and more such tourists are coming up keeping in view of the popularity. Tourists visit and stay in Yakten to enjoy the scenic beauty, organic food, bird watching and trekking upto Jhandi Dara uphill.

Subba informed that the homestays at Yakten can accommodate around 70-80 guests during peak seasons.
