SUBJECT :The ‘Courtallam-Thenmala’ summer tour package, offered by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), is all set to capitalize on the prospects of eco-tourism along the Western Ghats. The five-day tour package, which aims to attract nature enthusiasts, will be launched next month.

Thiruvananthapura (Kerala), April 29, 2018: The ‘Courtallam-Thenmala’ summer tour package, offered by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), is all set to capitalize on the prospects of eco-tourism along the Western Ghats. The five-day tour package, which aims to attract nature enthusiasts, will be launched next month.

A visit to Thenmala eco-tourism centre will be the highlight of the tour package, which will be launched on May 7.

The journey will begin from Tambaram, near Chennai, in an overnight special train. ‘Train no. 06027 Tambaram-Kollam Bi weekly special’ will reach Tenkasi railway station the next morning. Visit to various waterfalls is an added attraction.

From Tenkasi, tourists will be taken to Old Kuttalam Falls, Main Falls, Kutralanathar Temple, Five Falls and Sri Kasi Viswanathar Temple at Kuttalam.

Following a visit to Palaruvi Falls at Aryankavu on day three, the passengers will be taken to Thenmala eco-tourism centre. The passengers can explore the adventure zone, leisure zone, deer sanctuary, Kallada dam and musical dancing fountain at Thenmala.

Trip to Agasthiyar falls, Tamaraparani River and Papanasam Temple in Tirunelveli are part of the itinerary on the penultimate day of the tour. The return journey will be arranged in ‘Train no. 06028 Kollam-Tambaram weekly special’ from Tenkasi railway station at 5.15pm, which will reach Tambaram at 5.05am the next day.
