SUBJECT :Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that hinterland and bird tourism will be promoted in the state on big scale. 

Panaji(Goa), January 17, 2020: Panaji, jan 17 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that hinterland and bird tourism will be promoted in the state on big scale.

Speaking after inaugurating “ 3rd Bird Festival of Goa 2020”, organized by Goa Forest Department at Valpoi in Sattari taluka in North Goa, he said,’ Goa has good road connectivity and so also all the good birding sites which are not very far from the coastal areas. The Forest Department will provide a platform for naturalised, experts, forest officers, bird photographers to meet and share their insights, this will open new vistas for ecotourism in Goa’s hinterland.’

He said Goa was home to over 450 plus species of birds both residents and migratory.

The C hief Minister also inaugurated bird exhibition at the site and released Postal Cover brought out by Goa Postal Authorities.

Subhash Chandra, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, welcomed the guests.

Vinod Kumar, IPoS, Post Master General, Maharastra Circle in his speech highlighted the importance of species postal cover, which was released on the occasion.

As many as 52 delegates, including from foreign countries and students and bird lovers, had gathered to witness the mega gala in Sattari taluka which evoked overwhelming response.
