SUBJECT : Yatra programme was organized by EIACP RP on Ecotourism, Sikkim State Council of Science and Technology in order to spread awareness among people through various Mission Life activities. The activities included flash mob, Nukkad Natak, Street performances, open quiz as well the Yatra team gave verbal presentation on Mission Life and how an individual can practice life activities without harming any ongoing social or economic activity.
REPORT ON YATRA FOR MISSION LiFE
Yatra under the banner Mission LiFE (lifestyle for environment) was introduced to create a mass awareness on collective action and sustainable practices towards environment by the people. The main objective of Yatra is to communicate a message to the public in order to focus the effort of the regions populace and communities on creating a mass movement for positive behaviour change in the region.

The activities included flash mob, Nukkad Natak, Street performances, open quiz as well the Yatra team gave verbal presentation on Mission Life and how an individual can practice life activities without harming any ongoing social or economic activity.
Yatra programme organized by EIACP RP on Ecotourism commenced on 26th of November and ended on 28th of November 2023 for three consecutive days at Namchi, Mangan & Pakyong districts respectively. The programme started with the flash mob followed by street play on two major themes of Mission Life i.e, Single Use Plastic and Adopt Healthy Lifestyle. The audience were also made aware about how plastic is harmful to the environment and how plastic impose wildlife threats while contributing to environment degradation. The street play conveyed the message about giving importance to eco-friendly products, embracing healthy lifestyle by consuming organic foods and encourage the use of millets in food and medicinal plant for nutrition and overall wellbeing. After the street performance the audience took part in open quiz which was based on Environment. The programme came to an end with addressal to Mission Life and its seven themes.
Total numbers of audience in three districts were above 1100 .
