SUBJECT : EIACP RP Sikkim on Ecotourism conducted webinar as one of the activities to observe World Environment Day celebration. The theme for the webinar was “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5
thJune in order to raise awareness and taking correct measures for the protection of the environment. This day has grown to become a global platform for public outreach. Moreover, World Environment Day is reminder of our interconnectedness with nature.
As a series of World Environment Day celebration EIACP RP Sikkim on Ecotourism observed the first day of event activities by displaying the banner at the entry gate of the Department. The banner displayed the main theme for the World Environment Day “Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience”.
EIACP RP Sikkim on Ecotourism also conducted webinar as one of the activities to observe World Environment Day celebration. The theme for the webinar was “Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience”. The webinar was conducted at 2:30 pm and had four eminent speakers from different majors. The webinar had around participants wherein the participants grasped in-depth knowledge on Environment. The programme also had an open discussion among the speakers and the participants. The webinar concluded with the addressal by Principal Director cum EIACP Coordinator Shri Dorjee Thinlay Bhutia.
