National Workshop on lifestyle for Environment(LiFE) 2022-23 was held at Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change on 30th January 2023 where EIACP (Erstwhile ENVIS) centres from PAN India participated in the event. Chief Guest for the programme was Shri. Bhupender Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Guest of Honour was Shri. Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Hon’ble Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Inaugural Session was welcomed and presented by Shri. Sujit Kumar Bajpayee, Joint Secretary, EIACP.


During the event, products of various EIACP centres were released by Hon’ble Minister where bamboo products made by GDSP trainees from Bamboo Crafts training programme organised by Sikkim State Council of Science and Technology was also launched. The programme was attended by officials and staffs of PAN India EIACP centres and senior officials from Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change.


A technical session was held for orientation and sensitization of EIACP centres on LiFE and creation of breakout groups and explanation of the terms of reference was organised where EIACP RP Sikkim on Ecotourism actively participate in it. The main idea of the session was to create and share ideas on implementation of Action for LiFE for forthcoming financial years.

Side by side a parallel session was organised where in Sikkim EIACP RP from State Council of Science and Technology participated in the stall presentation on lifestyle products.


The stall was crowded with more than 100 visitors where live demonstration of Bamboo Art was presented by Mr. Phurba Sherpa (GSDP trained and employed trainee) from Tathangchen, Gangtok, Sikkim. Products were also available for sale where the stall went out of stock before 3 pm evening. The collection amount was sum up to Rs. 5200/- in the same day respectively.
